Our History

The origin of Bass Maintenance can be traced back to 1969 when the company, at that point in time called Bradford Corporation, was created to service the Westvaco paper mill in Wickliffe, KY. Bradford Corporation concentrated its efforts on the Westvaco paper mill until around 1984 when its services expanded to the Calvert City, KY area.

In 1985, Jim Bass purchased Bradford Corporation and set up a new business named Bass Maintenance Corporation. With the new ownership in place Bass Maintenance expanded to include painting and waterblasting services. The company then evolved into the role of general contractor three years later in 1988 when both civil and structural services were added to the portfolio.

Jim Bass later sold the company in 1992 to a group of employees. Shortly after this transaction the new ownership executed a strategic plan to establish a base of operation in Calvert City, KY in 1994. Since that time Bass Maintenance has continued to expand its presence in Calvert City while maintaining its Wickliffe operations.

Today, Rory Toombs is the sole owner of Bass Maintenance Corporation. The foundation of Bass Maintenance has always been our core values of honesty and integrity, which are continually applied to every aspect of our business. With help from our expanding core employee base and a constant emphasis on work ethic, we look forward to making both our current and future clients part of our proven success.
